Not sure reason for: question, as that's not a common procedure, but a podiatrist may be able to offer you guidance on this, and discuss the pros and cons of the procedure. Any thing done on toes do affect gait mechanics, and can alter the way you walk. So, do weigh in your options, and get a second opinion of necessary.

Toe-tal Cost ?: It sounds like this for purely cosmetic reasons, and that might put you at odds with your insurance carrier. It can be done but the risk is high. The variables include which toe, how much length and neurovascular patency, to name a few. Finding a competent surgeon who is ready, willing and able is also an issue to resolve. There is more to worry about than the cost.
