Ganglion cyst: Depending on if the procedure will be done in the office or an operating room. If it's in the OR, discuss with the anesthesiologist. If it is outpatient, the doctor can write for a one time dose of an anxiety relieving medication before the procedure.

Yes/no: If they are simply aspirating the cyst, usually just some local numbing medicine. But if you're concerned, you can request a medicine. If they are surgically excising the cyst, then you will have full general anesthesia.
