May not need any: Your B12 levels are at the low end of normal and you may not need supplement. If you are considered deficient it would depend on the cause of deficiency and that would drive oral supplement vs. injection. Vitamin b12: Vitamin Bs are water soluble vitamins making them difficult to take too much of. It is good that you have a doctors appt to review possibilities of why your levels are low. It is reasonable to take 1000mcg of vitamin B12 daily by mouth for a couple weeks until further options are reviewed.
