May be: Please consult with your doctor to see if there may be a contraindication to fasting. If your doctor advises against fasting, your imam should be able to grant you a dispensation. If you are cleared to fast, make sure that you drink enough water during the non-fasting period.

A Matter of Faith: It can be challenging to make choices for health that raise a conflict w/ faith. Only your soul knows best. But, many devout I've known offer advice that exemption from religious rigor for medical reason is given. You might consider other forms of self-denial like charity or service. Taking care of your health is a way of praising the gift of life. Ask your Dr for a safe minimal sustaining diet.

?question: This is not really a question for the Doctors, but more a religious issue and personal preference based on your beliefs. If you have a specific medical condition pertaining to fasting, then re-ask the question. Best wishes.
