Oils are safe: It is safe to use products like bio-oil and olive oil on the external ear. You can apply with a q -tip, but do not insert inside the ear canal. An over the counter cortisone cream can also help if you have psoriasis or eczema, but do not use for more than a week or so.

Possible eczema: You may have a form of eczema and could try hydrocortisone cream 1% cream, if it is the canals and you are a swimmer or water lover it may be swimmer's ear which would require antibiotic/antifungal drops.
