Time: Give it some more time and go back to the dentist if the pain does not get better or worsens. Different individuals have different pain thresholds and heal at different rates.

Be patient : Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure and is not completely risk-free. Pain, swelling, bad breath and infection following surgery is usually at its worst 24 – 48 hours after surgery. After that it should subside more and more every day and after 7 days stop. 9 days is too long, but the good news is that your dentist checked the healing process and was not alert. Good luck.
