Went to er for swelling in ball of foot after day of pain walking, diagnosed plantar fascia. no heel pain though- is this possible or something else?

Plantar fascitiis: Does not have to cause pain in the heel it can be anywhere along the length of the fascial tissue. Other possibilities could include a plantar plate tear or stress fracture if the pain was more in the metatarsal region. Follow up with a. Foot doctor if the pain persists.
