Tylenol (acetaminophen): It sounds like you have a viral upper respiratory infection, what people call a "cold." Try some acetaminophen (one brand name is Tylenol) for the discomfort, get lots of fluids and rest and you should feel better soon. People who smoke get a lot more of these infections, so now is a good time to quit. Seek medical care if you get a fever, severe headache/stiff neck, shortness of breath, etc.

URI symptoms: Upper respiratory infection causes inflammation of Throat= Soreness,Pharynx and Bronchi =Cough,Nose and sinuses= Congestion. Commonly Viral; can be Bacterial requiring Antibiotic treatment.Smoking irritates the inner lining of UR Tract so you get excessive mucus production and loner time to recover. Use Steam inhalation, Antihistaminics, Vit, C, Advil (ibuprofen) . Try to quit smoking.
