12-48 hours: Depends also if there is infection, and your general immune status. Hopefully, you will heal well. Any increasing redness, heat, or fever, please get back to the doctor quickly as it could be sign of skin infection.

Varies: Not all bils ( abscesses) will respond to cortisone injections. Consult the treating physician.
