TALK TO SPECIALIST: Pleural fluid in other words fluid around the lung initially is drain by way of a needle (thoracentesis). If it reaccumulates a draining chest tube might be placed and then sealed with talc or other medication. This is called pleurodesis. Treatment depends on the cause, talk to a Pulmonologist & Cardiothoracic surgeon to review your options.
