Clenching: You answered you own question. Your clenching is most likely the cause of your sore teeth. This can only be determined by a one on one clinical exam and x-rays. If someone kept tapping you on your shoulder, your shoulder would become sore. Stress and possible sleep disorder may be contributing factors.

Parafunctional force: Your body (teeth) are telling you something... HELP! The excess wear and tear you are putting on the teeth, gums tissue, and bone can result in premature loss of your teeth. Have a local dentist examine you to determine if a bruxism guard would be beneficial.

Bruxism : Habit control with oral appliance, self physical therapy and breathing exercise during the day. The occurrence of bruxism especially daytime bruxism, appears to be related to periods of emotional or physical stress as well as the anticipation of stress. During the night intraoral appliances, medications and behavioral interventions.
