A 17-year-old male asked:

I couldn't get my second mmr shot due to a severe allergic reaction to it. what ingredient would cause this? not allergic to any others. will i be ok?

Egg protein hypersensitivity used to be (before year 2010) main cause of severe allergic reaction following MMR vaccine. Rarely, individuals experienced a severe hypersensitivity to MMR, are found to have a reaction to gelatin. You can still receive MMR vaccine after evaluation by an allergist under close observation.
