Pregnancy test: Home pregnancy tests have become more and more sensitive, and can detect pregnancy approximately one week before your missed period. In your case, this may have been detected earlier if your voulation was earlier than predicted. Congratulations!

Probably pregnant: Advanced pregnancy tests can detect hCG, the hormone found in pregnant womens urine, several days before the period is due. Also, women with even slight variations in cycle lengths may not always be able to predict when the next one is due, so an "early" positive pregnancy test may not be as early as you think.
