My 20 month old girl has had a wet cough & runny nose for a week. i know it just needs to run its course, but what can i give or do for her?

Is it bothering her?: It is difficult for parents to see their children sick..It is actually a sign that you love your children. If it is not bothersome to her, you may not need to do anything. If bothersome--as most cough in babies/children are from postnasal drip. Some claritin/zyrtec syrup etc..Can help dry out the mucus/drip and stop/reduces the coughing etc..If not helpful or worsen, consult doc..Good luck.

Nasal saline drops: Gentle suction with nasal saline and a cool air mist humidifier may help to lessen the symptoms. Usually upper respiratory infections resolve within two weeks.
