A 19-year-old female asked:
I need to know if eating dairy when you have a tonsillitis infection will cause tonsil stones - hard bumps in tonsil crypts that cause bad breath?

Tonsil stones: Tonsil stones can cause bad breath. But they are not typically caused by dairy products. The white spots may be from a strep infection. If you have not seen a doctor yet, you should. Rinsing with war salt water will help a sore throat and reduce tonsil stones

No: Dairy products will not cause tonsil stones. Please see a specialist ENT to review the status of your tonsils and recommend the appropriate treatment.
