Don't panic: I suspect this has something to do with your being hypertensive. At your age (64) without your having obvious primary kidney disease, your best move is probably just to manage your blood pressure, which causes progressive damage to your kidneys. This by itself isn't going to land you on dialysis though you'll feel better in old age if your kidneys are well-preserved.
