Neuropathic pain: A constant, burning pain that is often accompanied by paresthesia or dysesthesia is characteristic of the continuous neuralgias. Some continuous neuropathic pains are also maintained by the sympathetic nervous system and are designated as sympathetically maintained pain (SMP). See pain management interventional specialist for evaluation and treatment. Medrol pack is not enough.
