How can i get my eye doctor to check if i have optic nerve damage ??

Curious question: A simple visit to any optometrist or ophthalmologist can start the process. If your screening visual exam and fundoscopic exam (exam of the inside of the eyeball) is normal, further study would not be indicated. If you have some history or issue that causes you to worry about the optic nerve, you should discuss it with the doc.

Had an MRI done of the brain. Its nothing urgent but the doc said theres mild prominence optic nerve sheaths. Some type of pressure issue. Need to get a dilated eye exam?
Doc, Can slit lamp examine optic nerve without use of dilating drops? Also please tell me that if person with angle recession induced by injury has normal eye pressure in yearly checks. Is it likely that history of injury is not leading to glaucoma?
