Metoprolol: Metoprolol which is marketed under several names is a beta blocker which helps keep the heart rate regular. The side effects include slow heart rate or bradycardia and hypotension or low blood pressure. In men these meds have been associated with sexual dysfunction or erectile dysfunction, although so is heart disease and hypertension.

Other side effects of beta-blockers include: HDL reduction, increased triglycerides, bronchoconstriction if non-selective beta-blocker is used leading to shortness of breath; bradycardia, hypotension, heart block, fatigue, and dizziness.
