Clotrimazole works: Either way I think 1 or 2% would be fine and no "risk" from the med of damaging your skin. Controlling the fungal infection is a much more important issue. Question "how" fungus arose is important since going forward u don't want this coming back. Fungus loves moisture so keeping area dry is important. It's summer now so I could imagine heat/sweat providing a breeding ground for these germs.
