Eczema: What you are describing sounds like eczema or an allergic contact dermatitis to nickel. Sometimes the nickel found in the metal snaps on jeans will contact the skin and cause an allergic reaction where it contacts. The rash on the back of your knee is likely more along the lines of eczema. It is difficult to tell, so i would recommend you see a dermatologist to check it out.
