Multiple Variants: Babies with sod have underdevelopment of the nerve that transmits information on how you "see" from the eye to the brain. Some kids may have few vision problems to have no vision. Since it is part of the brain development that is affected, other issues may be an anomaly in the part of the brain that regulates some hormones. Some kids may have seizures. Many children with sod have very normal lives.
