Matter of style: Whether it is 'wise' or not is largely an opinion, or a strategy. TTC naturally for 3 months with a blocked tube is reasonable, it is also fairly conservative. Going directly to treatments is also completely reasonable, but more aggressive. If you are unhappy with your doctor's recs, talk with him about how you want to proceed.
