Yes: Studies years ago showed as many as 70% of college age women had evidence of prior HPV. HPV is a localized tissue infection that does not spread through the blood, so babies only potential for exposure is during delivery.Wart strains can be passed during labor/delivery if delivering vaginally. To date, we have no confirmation that non-wart strains are passed to any newborn.
