Generally.....: Newborns start maternally acquired passive immunity from birth against common infections. This period of protection generally lasts between 2-3 months, depending upon the immunity levels in mother. While one month olds can get some viral infections they weren't born with protection against, important thing is to get them checked esp if they have fever, or change in their oral intake etc.
