You might: Prior sleep disorder (sd) is not a requirement with rls. However, one sd might well be associated with others.

No: Rls can happen in kids and adults. Sometimes in kids it is dismissed and calling growing pains or limit setting insomnia.

RLS: Rls is predominantly a clinical diagnosis pain burning or itching on resting relief obtained by movement happens usually in the evening before bedtime. Sleep study is not needed to diagnose RLS per aasm and sleep apnea incidence remains the same at 5% so unless you have symptoms suggestive of sleep apnea then a sleep study will be indicated. Ferritin levels below 50 have known to cause rls.
