Prevention: Not being able to sleep may indicated sleep problems that can be life shortening or life threatening. A condition called restless leg syndrome may be at play. The only way to know if there are serious problems is with an overnight sleep test. I encourage you to seek help.

RLS: It may be related to underlying medical or pyschological issues. Restless legs syndrome (rls) itself can cause issues w/ sleep initiation. It is recommended you consult a sleep medicine specialist to determine if you truly have RLS ; also how to help with your insomnia. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, large meals, nicotine, vigorous exercise, bright lights, ; electronics before bedtime. Hope this helps!
