Metoprolol 4 anxiety: Beta blockers are commonly prescribed to treat anxiety. One benefit over some other meds, is that they are non-habit forming (not addictive). When taken as needed, it is more common to use propranolol, which has a short time to onset & is short acting, as opposed to toprol Xl (or metoprolol ER). To select the right treatment for you, talk with ur prescribing doc :) hope ur feeling btr soon :)!

Metoprolol/anxiety: No. Metoprolol is for BP control and should be taken scheduled once or twice a day.
