HTN and neph: Scientists have determined that essential hypertension involves a kidney re-set in the excretion of sodium, resulting in an imbalance between plasma volume, blood pressure, and kidney excretion of sodium. Hence, the kidney is a source of essential hypertension. Eventually, blood vessels thicken and harden and these variables contribute to resistant hypertension.
