Chronic URI: This could be caused by a mononucleosis-like syndrome other than due to EBV. CMV, toxoplasmosis, HIV disease and other entities can produce this. You may have allergies that do not respond to nasal steroids, or you may have chronic tonsillar infection which requires their removal. You might, if you have not already, see an ENT specialist. Good luck and hope this helps.

Tonsillitis : If your tonsils are enlarged, they are probably interfering with your sleep. This is obstructive apnea. As your soft palate relaxes in deep sleep, the tonsils can obstruct your breathing. You actually have to 'wake up' to breath, although you are not aware if it. It can happen hundreds of times, and can acct for fatigue. That and the chronic tonsillitis, you should probably have an ENT referral.
