Thrush: Thrush is a fungal infection. The dentures are porous so they will become contaminated. The real source remains in the tissues. The thrush fungus is a normal part of the oral flora. It breaks out as thrush from excessive use of antibiotics or depressed immune system. But back to the denture, yes bleach will kill it but it will also bleach the color out. AND use very little, less than 1 to 20 water

A better solution: Soak dentures in 50% vinegar/50% water for 30 min. to inhibit fungus growth. A little better, but more expensive alterative is Aloe Vera gel. Antifungal medications (e.g. nystatin, amphotericin or miconazole) can effectively treat oral thrush, and the condition usually benign and does not cause complications for healthy people. Hope it helps.
