Can be: It depends on the real reason your testis is not detected. Some never complete the journey from where it originated next to the kidney, down through the abdomen to land in the scrotum. If it remains in the abdomen it increases your risk of testicular cancer and man diminish your fertility. The usual plan is to find and bring it down no later than 1 yo. For some, removal is the best plan.
