Probable abscess: If it is tooth related, it is probably an infection of the gums around the tooth or the nerve of the tooth. Decay does not cause this unless the decay has reached the nerve and progressed into an abscess.

Infection: The probability is that you have an infection. You may have infected tooth/teeth (abscess) and/or infected gums. In either case the infection should be treated immediately or it can do localized damage and it can swell, damaging other organ systems. There's no DIY solution, no pill, salve, snake oil, homeopathic remedy, or prayer that will cure your infection(s). Call Dentist...NOW!

See a dentist ASAP: A tooth infection won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your body. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. See your dentist ASAP for tooth infection treatment.
