Risk vs Benefits: Compared to other medications used to treat anxiety, Buspirone is considered a very safe medication, and rarely associated with side effects. That being said, any medication can have any side effect with anybody at any time. You might be a slow metabolizer (and therefore more sensitive to medication) and a more gradual increase in dose might be better tolerated.

No, in my opinion: The reaction you have may be what is called an "extrapyramidal reaction" related to Dopamine D2 receptor actions of buspirone. Movement disorders can result and there can be concern regarding generation of long term movement disorder. Your reaction might be temporary but if you are prone to this kind of reaction continued use is questionable.
