Yes, and no.: All human behavior comes from brain function. All brain functions are due to structure and all structure can be abnormal. Chronic mood disorder can result from constitutional brain biology dysfunction. However, the abnormalities are typically at a cellular level and not visible on current brain scans. Conversely, lesions seen on brain scan typically do not directly result in mood disorders.
