Many possibilities: There could be many possibilites, from infection to fever to an inflammatory condition such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. The best answer is to see your primary care and discuss your concerns with her or him.

Need subspecialist?: A fever of unknown origin (FUO) has a specific definition, most typically a prolonged fever over 101, with no obvious source after appropriate investigations. This may require an infectious disease specialist. A careful medical history and physical, esp of travel and work. Immune status is important. General categories of FUO include infections, autoimmune conditions, and malignancies.
