A member asked:

Taking 2 vitron-c a day, am & pm. still have anemia, heavy fatigue. a dr. suggested liquid iron. pharmacist agreed, but what is equivalent dose? v-c = 65 elemental iron. normal dose, liquid, equiv 44 mg

1 and 1/2 tsp: Vitron-C contains 65mg of iron and 125 mg of Vitamin C. The liquid iron supplement contains about the same amount of iron in 1 and a half teaspoons, but you should find out the cause of the anemia. It could be serious. If you are past menopause, check it out. It is best to take iron on an empty stomach.

Iron deficiency: Iron is not absorbed well when taken orally. You might need iron transfusions. But why do you have iron deficiency. Always make sure that you don't have blood in the stool.
