What is SIBO: I can answer the question but I am not familiar with SIBO. Do you mean SBO (small bowel obstruction)?

No: Cholecystectomy is not associated with SIBO. However, some patients can develop diarrhea after cholecystectomy which is due to fatty food intake other could be due to irritation of the bile. In some patients Cholesteramin may be needed to treat their diarrhea if mild treatments with adjusting diet and mild anti diarrhea medication does not work.

No relationship: I agree with the other doctor. The most common sequelae of GB removal is bile salt diarrhea which causes urgency and loose stools after eating and seems to be more common in women.
