Spinal Stenosis: Is a chronic progressive degenerative condition usually of the lower spine occurs when the spaces around the spine narrow. L5-S1 spinal stenosis is very common and can be very painful. Surgery is one option. Unfortunately once you have degenerative disease, not much will cure it, not even surgery. Surgery may help with pain and stability, but may also cause limitations in flexibility and movement.
