Depends on situation: Almost all patients reacted vigorously to the whole cell pertussis vaccine used prior to the mid 90's. That vaccine was replaced by a acellular vaccine. If that was the vaccine, you can get this one without worrying about it.You can review which vaccine you reacted to and review your needs with your doc. Some may still need to be avoided, while many could be OK.
