A member asked:

Wanted to know if chickenpox can still be contagious if it'sbeen 1 week?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The chickenpox is considered contagious from 24-48 hours before the first spot appears. It continues to be contagious until the last lesion has dried, generally 6 days after they appear. If it has been a full week, the contagious period has likely passed. If your sores are still draining, the debris may have infectious material.
