A member asked:

Doctors, what is the difference between human insulin and analogues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Amino acid sequence: Hi. The human Insulin gene expressed and in solution unmodified is historically referred to a "Regular" insulin. When the gene sequence is rearranged, that puts non-native Amino Acids in various position of the Insulin protein, which gives the analog Insulin different pharmacokinetic properties that are more desirable in treating diabetes than the pharmacokinetics of Regular insulin.
