A member asked:

Help please, my doctors are suggesting an antrectomy since vagatomy failed. is this safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Is safe: vagotomy usually with pyloroplasty is utilized to control ulcers of duodenum and complications such as bleeding from the ulcer. If vagotomy fails which is usually rare, the antrectomy, the removal of the distant portion of stomach with the site of pathology is performed. The procedure is very safe.
