My 9 year old son has been diagnosed with a winged scapula. what is the most common and the best treatment?

Scapular winging: Treatment for scapular winging depends on cause. Complete diagnosis may require a test to see if the nerves to specific muscles are working. If muscles are simply weak, pt may be all that's needed. If nerve to muscle not working, muscle transfer may be required. For long thoracic nerve palsy, pec major transfer to scapula. For spinal accessory palsy, eden-lange transfer. Good luck!
