Blood: If you are referring to the standard fecal occult blood test in the office and it is done as a colon cancer screen.

Two types of tests: One type tests for peroxidase activity associated with hemoglobin but also present in other molecules. An other type tests for human globin protein and detects bleeding in the colon only. Both are intended to check for blood in stool.
