You probably have a: condition called Subluxating patella, which is seen commonly in teenagers, mostly girls. The knee cap due to ligament laxity gets to move outwards from the stronger outer ligaments while the inner ligaments are stretched or weak. So everytime you turn suddenly your knee cap will tend to move outwards with hyperentension of the knee. Need to see an Orthopod and get intensive Therapy as well.

Laxity & weakness: Some knees naturally hyperextend in certain positions due to the ligaments being "loose," but not torn. Muscle weakness around the knee & pelvis also contribute to hyperextension. If minimal pain, then work on strengthening. If pain/swelling, then it's time to see a doc for a more thorough work-up.
