Planta fascitis: Is a possibility. I would try getting a pair of arch supports/orthotics and see if that helps.

6 months, maximum.: Unfortunately, the best way to treat heel pain is to prevent from occurring. When you stand for hours, you are a prime candidate for plantar fasciitis. No matter how you go about treating it now, if continue to stand, it is going to take time to go away. Great shoes are a must. Apply heat to the sore areas to try to increase the blood flow and speed healing.
