A member asked:

When you have a necrotic pulp, does the tooth go dark?

Necrotic pulp: Necrotic pulp means the tooth has died and the blood supply has dried up inside the tooth which can cause darkness, plus the tooth often becomes dried out and brittle. If the tooth has a root canal therapy, the root often gets dark.

Sometimes: Dead pulp (nerve, blood vessels, etc.) should be removed. If tooth has darkened, bleaching may be advisable. Talk to an Endodontist.
