Non-vital Tooth: Sounds like you need root canal therapy on that tooth. The sooner you call a dentist for an appointment the sooner you will feel better. It is not going to go away by itself.

Infection: Sounds like you have an infection. Visit a dentist and let the take an X-ray to verify. It will most likely need a root canal or to be extracted. Don't wait to get it looked at. This could lead to a very serious infection.
