Sore tooth: This cannot be accurately diagnosed with a clinical examination and x-rays. That being said, one possibility is an unrestored deep cavity or infection. Another is a fractured tooth or filling. Call your dentist for an examination.

Sporadic pain: Possible causes may include, but are not limited to, fracture, pulpal necrosis from a previous trauma, cavity/abscess, underlying cyst, traumatic occlusion, etc. please see your Dentist for examination and imaging to begin the differential diagnostic process. Diagnosis must be established in order to begin appropriate treatment.
